On Sunday 6th April, the U17 Shires Final took place at Loughborough University with eight of the top counties battling it out.

The Leicestershire team included:

 Boys: George, Ollie, Lucas, Josh, Jack, and Ross

Girls: Katie, Polina, Zara, Sabreen, Riyana, and Mutiara

First Round 1 Against Surrey 1

Mixed Doubles: Won 3 out of 4 matches

Singles: Won 7 out of 8 matches

Level Doubles: Won every match

Score: 18-2 win

We kicked things off strongly, with the team showing great performance and positive attitude.

Second Round Against Nottinghamshire

Mixed Doubles: Won all 4 matches

Singles: Won 7 out of 8 matches

Doubles: Split matches 4-4

Score: 15-5 win

Moving into the top four, the team kept the momentum going with a brilliant start, a dominant display in mixed doubles set the tone for the match. 

Championship Final Against Yorkshire

Mixed Doubles: Won all 4 matches

Singles: Won all 8 matches

Doubles: Only one loss

Score: 19-1 win

In the final, our players were on fire, dropping just one doubles match and claiming the title with an impressive win! 

The Leicestershire team was in a league of their own. Their strength, depth, and team spirit were evident in every match. A big shout-out goes to the LSBA, Leicestershire Performance Centre, top-notch coaching, and of course, the dedicated parents who support the team through every match and trip.

Overall, it was an amazing day and a huge achievement. Congratulations to our U17 team for being crowned Shires Champions 2025!
