A very cold March morning saw us travel to Bedfordshire for our last group match and the possibility of a direct route to the shires finals should we be able to take at least a 18-2 win. Prepped with the task, the team warmed up in the pre war, corrugated iron structure which is dedicated to Bedfordshire Badminton (we felt thankful for our facilities at Babington and its central heating) and set to work! The strength and depth of our players was evident with our players being mature seasoned players and showing great sportsmanship against an inexperienced Bedford side. It really highlighted our players dedication and commitment to hard work in training with far superior level of skill, ability and fitness (and the brilliant work of the PC). Leicestershire players dominated across the board – The final result was a fantastic 20-0 win to Leicestershire and a golden ticket straight to the Shires Finals on Sunday 6th April.
