Electrical work will be carried out next week, Monday 13th until Monday 20th, so our LBA hall will be shut from Monday and hopefully reopen the following Monday.
Babington were only informed by the contactors at the end of the day, yesterday, 8th.
The week-end tournament U12 invitation and U15 match to be held on Sunday should not be affected.
The closure will start on Monday 13th until Monday 20th if everything goes ok with the work involved – they have found some problems with the electrical work in the sports hall that they did not expect – some asbestos found.
It is essential that all players are escorted to their training session.
Please make sure the coach is in the sports hall before leaving your child.
You must also collect your child from inside the sports hall at the end of the session.
Please Note – Babington College – The College is due to be demolished and relocated on the other side of the road. (With the exception of both Sports halls)
The Sports hall will be closed until Jan 2015, this is not convenient but unavoidable with such a big project.
The LBA Hall will be in use as usual but there is bound to be disruption at some point, possibly access to the building may vary depending on the progression of the work. We are trying our best not to disrupt the training programme, but ask for your patience, we will keep you informed at each stage, please keep your eye the LSBA Website for more details.
As you all know by now Babington College is being knocked down ( don’t panic not the sports halls )
There are bound to be some disruptions with such a big job.
There is no access to the balcony which will make it more difficult especially at the Matches and Tournaments , but we will be using a small space in the sports hall for bags etc.
Our concern at the moment is with the players having to vacate the building to use the toilets which are located in a portable cabin just outside the side door. As the nights draw in it is more concerning so we are going to suggest that if a player needs to use the toilet that they do not go alone , it will be difficult for the coach to be expected to supervise a loo run and coach therefore our suggestion is that the players asks the coach if they need to leave the building and to always go in at least pairs or under a parents supervision.
Coaches – Can you please let your players know this .
This email will be sent to all players parents.
PLEASE – Always check that a coach is on the premises before leaving your child ( do not just drop them off )
