For the second year running Leicestershire Under 12s team win Gold.
To give more players the opportunity to experience this competition we decided to take 2 teams so 8 Girls and 8 boys traveled to Sheffield to compete. In the first Leg of this competition we did only take one team who played exceptional well and won all their games , so going into this round was particularly exciting as they were in a good position and aiming for that Gold medal. The team were really up for it and showed their fighting spirit , never loosing a match all day ,there was some good individual performances but overall it was a fantastic team effort , congratulations to all the players .
The 2nd team had a hard group to play in , up against Yorkshire and Warwickshire who were strong opponents, but that did not deter the players they fought hard and got some good results , they went onto win the remaining matches ending up top of their group. It was definitely the right thing to do taking more players to this competition , they gained some good experience in a well organized competition. It was a fantastic weekend for the under 12 players . Well Done !

HERTFORDSHIRE U15 SILVER 5th March 2016A great day for Leicestershire u15s stepping up to the silver level tournament in Hertfordshire. The end of the very long day was rewarded with a gold for Eve Dale and Hritika Modi in the doubles and a bronze for Ella Haines and Martin Beynon in the mixed. Earlier on in the day Martin picked up an impressive gold in the singles making the day all worthwhile.
On Feb 28th the under 11 team travelled to Sheffield to play in the second leg of the Primary midway league. Our first game was against Yorkshire 2 which was good practice , the team settled in well and we came away with a 10-0 win. The next two matches went our way a 9-1 win v Cheshire and 10-0 victory v Northumberland , William Sewell showed a great performance in this match 8 – 3 down fighting hard to take the game 21-17 punching the air as he played.Next the deciding match was against Warwick who had been watching us play all day , this was going to be hard match , we managed to reach 4 games all with a cracking match played by Freddy and Tom , just the mixed to go, these last 2 games proved to be just to tough as the more experienced Warwick players took both games and we lost 6-4 . Our last match was v Yorkshire 1 for 3rd and 4th play offs . Yorkshire had 3 strong boys so soon won all their games , the girls pulled back with Sophie and Abbie winning again , unbeaten all day , a great experience for young Abbie , Mitesh and Abbie then had a very close game just loosing 20-21, so the match ended up 6-4 again. Our final position over the two legs was a very creditable 4th place. Some good partnerships were formed and all the players played their hearts out I was proud to manager the team. A big thanks to Karen for her help .
The Team – Tom , Freddie, Mitesh, Lucus , William , Sophie, Abbie, Carly and Emily.
