Mitchell Allen and William Sewell travelled down to Warwickshire for the U13 Bronze tournament on Saturday 9th December. In singles both boys played well to get out of their box, Mitchell qualifying in second place and William finishing top. Next round held no problem for either of them, Mitchell and William both winning 21-11. Unfortunately William just missed out on a semi- final place losing in his next round 21-18 in a very physical battle.
Mitchell however continued his good form in another hard fought game winning 21-18 and reaching the semi-finals. He once again beat his opponent 21-16, the game which saw him earn his right to a place in the final. Unfortunately his seeded one opponent proved too much on the day, but what a fantastic achievement to come away with a Silver – well done Mitchell!
The boys then teamed up together in the doubles, winning both their games in their box in good style, beating the pairs 21-14 and 21-7. The boys continued to sail through the next two rounds winning 21-12 and 21-10 to reach the finals. There they continued to show why they were so successful in the Shires League last year, winning the final 21–11 and with it an amazing gold medal – well done to both of you!
