U14 Shires vs Yorkshire 1

08.01.17

A really good start to 2017 was shown this weekend by all of our u14 stars with a weekend in York. Well done to all in the u15 York silver, great results for everyone this weekend.

A fun packed social meal Saturday night was a great way to celebrate everyone’s success and meet new people from outside of the county ending with a lift back to the hotel for the kids in the party bus!

Everyone was raring and ready for our match against Yorkshire, who we knew would be tough.

We started off with the mixed doubles and we thought that although this event was up first, it would be the decider of who won the match. Winning all 4 was fantastic and the best we could have hoped for.

We then went into the singles where we split the boys 2 each all being great fought out games giving away 151 points over all 4 games and the girls kept strong and won 3 out of 4 games giving away 142 points. We were now 9-3 up hoping we could get 2 of the doubles to give us the match win.

The team did not disappoint and all went on with fighting spirit, even those who thought they didn’t have it in them! They all played fantastic and we won 5 out of the 8 doubles giving us a 14-6 win and a impressive team performance – Go Team Leics!

Must give a mention to Owen for his spectacular miss hit on Luke’s back leaving Luke with a tattoo ‘Owen was here’!

To Chris and Neil for their entertaining moments and their photo bomb!

And to Katie, Lola, Matilda and Ollie for being so good and coming all weekend to support their brothers and sisters – it will soon be your turn!
